ALL ABOARD THE 401 TRAIN

Today Ben smith is running Marathon Number 58 of his 401 marathons in 401 days in Maidstone Kent.

If you haven’t heard of Ben Smith and the amazing challenge he is taking on here’s the crux of it:

On September 1st 2015 Ben embarked on a challenge of a lifetime which will see him run 401 marathons in 401 consecutive days around 309 different locations of the UK. The aim is to raise £250,000 for two fantastic charities, ‘Stonewall’ and ‘Kidscape’. Both these charities work tirelessly to combat bullying in our schools and society.

This weekend he is visiting Bracknell and I am honoured to be able to say that I am taking part in his challenge with him – No before you ask I am not doing the full marathon distance, my legs wouldn’t last that long! – but I and many of my fellow Club runners at Bracknell Forest Runners will be joining him on various parts of the marathon course that was specially created by one of our club members for this challenge.

So if you find yourself at a loose end this Sunday and want to come along the route goes around Bracknell, Finchampstead and Wokingham finishing through Swinley Forest and ALL are welcome to run as much (or as little) as you are able. The pace wont be crazy fast (approx. 11-12 minute miles) so manageable for most people but the idea is to get behind Ben and really support him in his challenge. you can find a map of the route here
